# About — Nici Island

Nici Island is a small, forested island ringed by living coral reef, close to Coron in Palawan, the Philippines. It is rented as a whole: when you stay, there are no other guests on the island, only you and the people you came with.

## What it is

A simple, off-grid house with three bedrooms (one king, two twin) that sleeps up to six. There is no mains electricity, no running water, no air-conditioning, no wifi and no daily housekeeping. Drinkable water is brought from the mainland, an emergency generator is available if needed, and food can be arranged in advance and cooked on site.

## Who looks after it

The island has a new owner who is working on repairs and basic amenities over time. The aim is to keep the quiet, rough-around-the-edges character of the place while making it comfortable enough to enjoy: reef snorkelling at the door, jungle on the hill and some of the best stargazing you will find.

## Who it suits

Small groups, couples, families and friends who are happy with a basic setup in exchange for privacy and nature. If you need electricity, air-conditioning or a restaurant on site, this is probably not the right place.

## Booking directly

Bookings are handled directly with the owner by email at [contact@niciisland.com](mailto:contact@niciisland.com). We can also arrange the transfer from Coron town and a boat crew for the length of your stay. See the [contact page](https://niciisland.com/contact) for details.
